1-  PAPA JOHN'S Regional 1 Shield  Final - Launceston V Wirral at Worcester's Sixways Stadium. -  Saturday  6th May.

Albeit after only one match  we were elevated to the Final against The Wirral who had  won all  their 3  with high scoring rounds.

In front of  a  noisy and vocal  crowd from both teams,  there were easily 100 plus CABS supporters, some took  the supporters bus/ others drove themselves, with many more watching the live stream.  From the Kick off  Launceston  flags were soon waving as within 10 mins  we were 12.0 up!  however Wirral suddenly woke up and a fast pulsating game began and entertained  both sets of fans.  At 1/2 time we were down  19-33,  however  the 2nd half talk  saw a change of tactics for  the CABS and  we narrowed the gap to 40 - 52 -  with about 10 mins to go,  with an eventual full time score of 47- 55.   A gripping contest and we certainly gave Wirral their  strongest test.  It was a great experience for the team, coaches and supporters and a gripping  & thrilling match to watch.

2 -  Sunday 7th May.

Polson's Ground was in spotlight  for the occasion of the Gill Burns Senior Women's County Championship. with CORNWALL v OXFORD.

LRC was hosting this game on behalf of the CRFU,  with LRC Gate/Car Parking Volunteers and all Gate Money going to the CRFU. In front of a 550 crowd  the Cornwall  team, which included 5 Launceston  players, showed their dominance with a 57 -0 win ensuring their place in the semi Finals.

With thanks to Susan Jamierson - and to her continuous score updates!
