Corey Jenkinson is the latest player to sign for Launceston and we are delighted to welcome him to Polson.
Corey, 23, who hails from Wellington in Somerset has played for Marjons in Plymouth and for Wellington RFC.
Whilst at university in Plymouth he met, and played rugby, with other CABs favourites Brandon Rowley, Dan Goldsmith and Torin Clarke, and he will moving back to the area imminently.
The scrum half took to the pitch in the three-way Maidenhead and Barnstaple pre-season friendly and gave a glimpse of what’s to come.
“It was great. I played about 20 minutes. I came on and scored so that was a boost to the confidence,” Corey said.
He will feature in Thursday night’s pre-season friendly at Bodmin RFC and looks forward to featuring in the squad throughout the season.
Joint head coach Ian Goldsmith said: “It’s great to have Corey on board, and whilst we haven’t had to much time with him on the field yet, the little we have had has been very encouraging. He also comes highly recommended by some of our current and former players who have played with him previously…with both our 1st XV and 2nd XV entered in competitive leagues this year, depth and competition is vitally important and this helps us achieve this.
“He featured for us in our first pre-season fixture and showed that he is a combative and physical scrum half with a keen eye for a gap, something we look forward to seeing more of as the season progresses.”
