What is your idea of a Rugby Club? A tough group of guys battling it out covered in mud? Do you feel you would want to be involved? Is the Club an active part of the community? Does the Club welcome non athletes, Ladies, youngsters, volunteers?

Whatever your impression Launceston Rugby Club wants to introduce you to their COMMUNITY CLUB where actually all elements of the Community can be a valued part of the Club.

To kick off the New Year on 6thJanuary Launceston will welcome league side Matson from Gloucester down to Polson – below us in the league – but proven ferocious opponents. In fact 50 points were scored in our away win at Matson earlier in the season. The Club bar, which stocks great beers on tap, and a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic  drinks for everyone, will be open from 12.30 and we will be offering a Buffet in the Perry Suite for the invited members of the community free of charge ahead of the game which starts at 3.00 pm.

There will be a chance to have a say in how the Club can benefit the community of Launceston and its surrounding parishes. It will be a great opportunity for anyone girls or boys, men or women to see what the Club is all about and to consider, if they wish, getting involved as players, volunteers or coaches.

We are offering 4 tickets to each interested club, school or organisation which will give free entrance to the game (normally £8 for non members) and of course the buffet. Youngsters under 18 are especially welcome and there is never a charge for them to watch games where they are also free to shout loudly supporting. There is plenty of food available to purchase very reasonably in the Clubhouse, provided by The Coffee Pot.

It’s going to be a great day with some excellent rugby on show and the friendship of our Club to enjoy. We usually attract crowds of around 500 including those sitting in the stand. The atmosphere is amazing and there is always a great buzz around the Polson ground.

Would you like to come and join us? So that we can cater properly please contact out Treasurer Sally Reed and we can arrange to leave 4 tickets at the gate for you and reserve a place at the buffet.

And as a curtain raiser check out our Colts game kicking off at 1.30 pm against Crediton - a chance to see the CABs of tomorrow!
