Polson was awash with former players for the final home League game of the season and this resulted in the largest crowd and largest 50/50 prizes. The main focus was on the players who represented the Club in the successful 1982/83 campaign when they won the Cornwall Cup and the Cornwall Merit Table for the first time. Johnny Braidwood travelled to Polson from Carlisle (roughly 400 miles each way) whilst others had an easier journey they travelled far enough to have to arrange “sleep-overs” or book accommodation in the town.

Most of the players attended the lunchtime carvery in the Lanson Suite and all of those alive today who had represented the Club in the Cornwall Cup Final made it to the ground which in itself was an astonishing achievement given the intervening forty years since. It shows how much their time at the Club meant to them and how much they valued the camaraderie. Thanks go to Rob Fry, with help from Merv, the Captain of the team in 1982/83 for making it all happen. It was also pleasing that so many wives were able to attend. The last time there was such a gathering was twenty five years ago and so much has happened since then in all respects it was especially great for the players to catch up and of course to reminisce about past achievements and what it meant for the Club in Cornwall and further afield. Most of those attending were a little more rotund and sporting rather less hair than twenty five years ago but the camaraderie and spirit still very evident just went to show why this group of players were so successful. It is hoped to have further reunions although all agreed they would not wait another twenty five years
